■ MANX Northern Railway carriage No. 6 (later Isle of Man Railway No. 45) has been moved to Douglas. The six-wheel Cleminson vehicle, dating from 1879, had been located at the same site in the north of Isle of Man, where Beyer, Peacock 2-4-0T has been kept since being privately bought in 1978. Its owner has restored the carriage to original varnished teak appearance, and it is expected to go on display in the railway’s Port Erin museum.
