On the Hunt

Hemingway had one thing right about hunting. It is more than just a passion; it is a means through which we explore our own relationship to nature. We are all seeking something in this world: goals to knock off, challenges to overcome, the thrill of the chase. As mountain bikers we understand this better than most, nature always keeps us honest. Your senses constantly attuned to the trail and environment around you. Mentally focused, physically connected.

Mountain biking and filmmaking have been two parts of my life that have been a sustained pursuit at different paces. I was neither a mountain biker nor filmmaker till I started pointing a camera at riders in the Whakarewarewa forest in 2011.
