Home on the water

ALTHOUGH it doesn’t quite qualify as ‘Home Water’, I have been fishing the lochs at Amhuinnsuidhe Castle on Harris for so many years now, in the company of my father-in-law The Doctor, that the severe beauty of the estate’s hillscapes and the frequent bounty from its waters have made it one of my favourite Scottish destinations. When my exuberant American friend Todd invited Mrs Reel Life and me to stay there for three days in September, I was absolutely thrilled.
