Sitting on her great grandad’s lap, my little girl was all smiles as he bounced her on his knee. Kaylah, then a year old, screeched with laughter as he tickled her.
‘Be gentle with him, love,’ I joked with her.
‘Grandad’s getting old!’
‘Don’t be silly,’ my grandad Mervin, 70, smiled.
It was January this year, and Grandad, my mum Karen, 47, dad Brian, 49, and a few of my friends had come over for the evening.
It was a full house, and my fiancé Connor, 22, and I had cooked up a feast for everyone.
