Never has it been more important to hear, do and see good all around us than in this long and difficult year, which will mark the 21st Pride of Britain Awards – a ceremony that celebrates the country’s unsung heroes, bringing their uplifting stories into the public eye.
Over the years, people from all kinds of backgrounds have received an award, usually handed to them by their favourite celebrities. This year, the awards are going to look a little different, with socially distanced ceremonies. But just because there will be no red carpet, it doesn’t take anything away from the winners. Woman speaks to Child of Courage winner Emmie Narayen-Nicholas and her mother about her achievements.
