PETER WILKINSON
THE founder of showing specialists Fylde Saddlery, well known for the creation of the Wilkie snaffle and the Magic bit, died on 2 October, following long-term heart problems.
Born in 1933, Mr Wilkinson grew up next door to a farm in Clitheroe, Lancashire. While helping on the farm, he developed a love of horses, learning to ride as a child.
