Where Eagles dare
IN 1632, the poet John Milton wrote in L’Allegro, “Come and trip it as ye go, On the light fantastick toe.” Phrases evolve and the original meaning is probably lost today, but Milton used ‘trip’ in its true sense, where it is not to stumble, but to move lightly and nimbly – just like the latest Eagle GT.
Eagle has been concentrating on E-types for more than 35 years and Henry Pearman, Eagle’s founder, has been around them most of his adult life. He founded the company on a bedrock of excellence, and when he decided to introduce the Eagle E-Type, it retained the correct XK engine and much of the inner core that made the E-type the extraordinary success that it was.
