    CATALINA, MACOS 10.15, is the very last chapter in the Mac OS X story. And, like other gripping stories, not all of your favorite characters are going to make it to the end…

    Let’s start with iTunes, which has been part of the Mac OS X story since 2001. Catalina killed it, replacing it in 2019 with three focused apps: Music, Podcasts, and TV. iTunes may have been the biggest casualty but there were many more, because Catalina also dropped support for 32–bit apps.

    Catalina also continued to bring the Mac, the iPhone and the iPad closer
