Milking a donkey is probably an unimaginable sight for many. The mere thought of consuming donkey’s milk will most likely also elicit a grimace of disgust on their faces – but some could change their minds after meeting Mompati Kgomanyane-Modimogale.

He sips the animal’s opaque white liquid with such pleasure that it triggers many people’s curiosity – and thirst.

“Donkey Milk, 100% organic,” reads the label on the 250ml plastic container.

“It tastes no different from cow’s milk. But this isn’t just milk – there’s more to it,” says Kgomanyane-Modimogale.
