    ‘MAHLOBO PLOTS TO OUST SISULU’

    A discredited politician told Human Settlements Minister Lindiwe Sisulu that her deputy, David Mahlobo, was allegedly working with disgruntled former and current staffers to have her removed from office when a reshuffle happened.

    In an audio recording of the conversation between Sisulu and political journeyman Mzwakhe Masoeu, the minister appeared to take his claims so seriously that she organised a rental car for him to travel from KwaZulu-Natal to Johannesburg for a face-to-face meeting.

    Sisulu also planned to report the matter to ANC deputy secretary-general Jessie Duarte and the police.

    In return for the information, Sisulu has since appointed Masoeu to the department’s national rapid-response task team.

    Masoeu was originally an ANC member, but later joined the EFF in KwaZulu-Natal, only to be allegedly chased out of the red berets for inciting dissent. In last
