When it comes to creating an environment of comfort and convenience to match what you’d expect at home, leisure vehicles have really been transformed in the past few decades. One of the biggest factors is the availability of hot and cold running water, and the ways it reaches the motorhome.

The bad old days of foot pumps, buckets and boiling kettles are long gone. These days, here’s how we get our water on tap.

Motorhome water supply

Most motorhomes have an onboard or underslung tank, which needs to be filled with clean water. Depending on the size of the vehicle, these vary from 60 to 150 litres.

The easiest way to fill them is to use a hosepipe, and top up the tank via a filler cap on the side of the ’van. With some models, you can also use an Aquaroll to fill an internal tank or, alternatively, a direct-feed water pipe, which is
