ROBERT, 57, is a chartered surveyor from Berkshire and has been a photo enthusiast for 50 of those years! He started with an ‘instamatic’ and made his way through manual and semi-auto SLRs, and a range of DSLRs, now using the EOS 5D Mk IV. He loves shooting all sorts of images from travelling around Europe (when we could) to local landscapes.

“We started off by trekking to this lovely lone tree in a field near the small hamlet of Purse Caundle. It was mid-afternoon and the sun was still quite high in the sky, so we moved to create some side light on the tree. Moving back and zooming in at 50mm on my 24-105mm for the best composition. I used an aperture of f/11 so the tree and hillside were sharp. A herd of cows slowly came into
