neos Grenadiers lead the peloton up Mont Aigoual, one of the highest points in the Cévennes, where the impressive views extend across to the Alps, Pyreenes and the Mediterranean. Despite advice from race organisers for fans to stay at home, the (mostly masked) crowds came out to, where a semi-fictional race takes place on it. In reality, while the breakaway raced for their lives, the GC riders marked each other out and rode together to the top.
