Tell us about your summer season

Since 2003, I have made the passage from the South of France to Montenegro and Croatia. Most times I have stopped overnight at Santa Maria di Leuca on the heel of Italy and then headed straight up the Adriatic or across to Corfu and the Corinth Canal. I have looked in the pilot book briefly at the large ports of Bari and Brindisi on the south-east coast of Italy but regarded them as divert ports only in the event of bad weather. I have just discovered that this was a huge mistake and I had missed some of the best
