Brushing up on colour

Penny Morrison

Interior designer

Which is your favourite neutral?

A milky-coffee colour, such as Farrow & Ball Stony Ground, because it goes with everything.

What is your favourite dark colour?

Dark raspberry, such as Farrow & Ball Radicchio—I love using similar colours on sofas, cushions and beds.

Do you use a lot of white?

I tend to use white only in beach houses—bedrooms there, decorated all in white, can look incredibly chic, with a few colourful accents.

What is your preferred colour for ceilings?

Pure white, such as Farrow & Ball Strong White, as ceilings discolour quickly.

Do you have a rule for painting woodwork?

Where possible, I paint woodwork in the same colour
