INTO THE BIG BLUE

There is everything to like about Jena Goldsack, one of a new wave of models who isn’t only beautiful but passionate about environmental issues. One of the main charity focuses for the 26-year-old, who has been modelling since her teens and has appeared on international editions of Vogue and campaigns for Marc Jacobs, Iceberg and Versus Versace, is the Sea Life Trust, for which she is a dedicated ambassador.

Jena is also refreshingly open and chatty, launching into a lowdown of her lockdown scenarios. “I’m usually based between London and New York. When Covid first happened and everyone was like, ‘Ah, it will be done in a few weeks’, I packed up some clothes in London to go to my mum’s in Cornwall,” she begins telling us from her childhood home there.

“I also packed a suitcase to take straight to New York, thinking I’d fly back there in April. I’ve not been back since January, as I go to Australia every January and February, but I stupidly flew back; I should have stayed – my best friend, who was with me, is still there. And coronavirus wasn’t really a thing [then] in Australia.”

Jena is one of life’s natural beauties with her own distinctive look: perfectly even features; large blue eyes; full lips and huge eyebrows that frame her face. So, we’re stunned when she tells us the first model agency she approached turned her down.
