The SA Police Service (SAPS) has been accused of refusing to declassify top secret documents so that a union representing three members in a disciplinary hearing can use the information to defend the officers.
The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (Popcru) suspects that the SAPS refused to declassify the information so it could be used as a trap for them if they emerged triumphant in the disciplinary case.
Popcru is representing three SAPS crime intelligence officers who are facing misconduct
