August is the time when Evenley village in Northamptonshire host their ‘Bill Lacey’ gathering to celebrate the famous Brooklands exponent and tuner. It is not the easiest of events to cancel, because so many of the attendees have no club affiliations and ‘just know’ that it is the place to go in early August.
