DX
We are living in strange times. DXpeditions are virtually nonexistent, yet the bands seem to be very active with “other” DX. For us “dyed in the wool DXers,” it is time to figure out what to chase now. Obviously, DXpeditions to those rare farflung corners of the earth just aren’t happening right now or in the immediate future. Who would have thought that traveling anywhere could be just as hazardous as going to a sub-Antarctic island? So, why are the bands so busy? Not much of anything else to do? I think it is simply being able to find some new stations to work. Let me share what I have been doing lately.
60 Meters
As I have detailed earlier, I found 60 meters to be tons of fun. Even though there are no “major” awards that allow 60 meter QSOs to count for anything, as I previously detailed, there are awards offered via <http://60metersonline.com>. My original goal was pretty simple. I wanted to work all 50 states, 100 DXCC entities (I am holding at 104), and all continents. Mission accomplished and it really didn’t take that long. All but one entity was on FT8. It was a blast and kept me busy for months.
