The golden orb-webbed spiders have two main body parts: the cephalothorax, which may also be referred to as the prosoma, and the abdomen or the opisthosoma. Protruding from the rear end of the abdomen are the spinnerets, while protruding from the front of the cephalothorax are the chelicerae. Their eyes are positioned atop the cephalothorax. Although most people know that spiders have eight legs, many are confused when they see a live spider, since it may appear to have ten legs.
