WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE

OUT NOW / CERT G / 83 MINS

This 1951 sci-fi disaster movie is a modern-day retelling of Noah’s Ark, only it’s a spaceship and it’s not escaping a Biblical flood, but rather a rogue star that’s on a collision course with Earth. Mankind’s only hope of survival is for a handful of brave souls to build the craft to escape our doomed planet and head to Zyra, the lone inhabitable planet orbiting the star. Ship crew are selected by lottery,, a novel that partially inspired Superman. inspired with its concept of a square-jawed hero, his girlfriend and a scientist teaming up to fly around the galaxy. So Wylie was a major influence on pop culture. Like all of Imprint’s deluxe Blu-ray releases, the disc has plenty of extras and comes in a limited-edition slipcase.
