TASTY T-DUB!

Weighing in at about seven tons and with getting on for 200hp on tap, the Ford TW-35 isn’t a tractor to be sniffed at. It was a range-topper back in the 1980s, and remains an eminently usable machine today, for those with serious farming in mind. But, with values reasonably affordable now, ownership of one of these emblematic Fords is now open to enthusiasts, assuming you have a shed large enough to house it!

The TW was launched by Ford in 1979 as a three-model range – the entry-level, normally-aspirated TW-10 (123hp), and the turbocharged TW-20 (144hp) and 30 (190hp) models. All were powered by Ford’s trusty, 6.5-litre (401cu in) in-line six, which benefitted from much-improved lubrication, fueling and cooling systems on the new models. The TW-30’s impressive power output came thanks to the addition of an air-to-air intercooler plus an oil cooler.
