There is, says Matej Mohorič, no redhot secret to Slovenia’s domination of the 2020 Tour de France. “It’s just a coincidence that there are two guys from Slovenia at the top of the standings. We’ve had strong guys before who’ve finished in the top 10 at the Tour, Jani Brajkovič won the Critérium du Dauphiné, and we’ve had other top results. But it’s pure coincidence that we’ve got two strong guys at the same time and hitting form at the same time,” the Bahrain-McLaren rider tells Cycling Weekly prior to the start of stage 16 in the small town of La Tour-du-Pin.
