COMPOST MAKING MADE EASY

Making compost is one of the most important aspects of growing your own food. When we grow fruit and vegetables we take goodness from the soil and by ploughing back in the waste material from our growing efforts, we put the goodness back in.

It is cyclical and such an important part of the growing process. Compost keeps our soil healthy and healthy soil will give us good crops. Compost is gardeners’ gold and if created well it is a wonderful boost to soil, being rich in nutrients and improving the structure. Additions of compost will also help aerate the soil, it will hold on to moisture and nutrients better and will enrich the flora and fauna of the soil habitat.

Making good compost is like following a recipe. You need the right ingredients in the right quantities for the best success.
