What was the band’s initial intent with Nightcap At Wits’ End ?

When we were going in to record it, the original idea was to have a lot of acoustic material, but then it just gets layered in with the electric guitars. I think a lot of the songs were written with the intention of being Pentangle-esque, so that was a new approach for us. But when we’re in the studio together and we’re rocking, we’re just… all right, let’s do it like this! In writing and talking about the songs there were], so we just started doing them electric. That was something different from the other records we’ve done.
