Pump Friction!

My copper-bottomed investment is still lying on the operating table with its guts spewing out for all to see.

One of the big complaints with this bike was the bleeding of two-stroke oil from various of the arterial delivery systems of the bike, even at rest. A two-stroke engine is dependent on a regular supply of 2T oil, so multiple haemorrhages can be seen as bad news for its longevity, not to mention making it embarrassing to park it up anywhere public.

The first bleed was found to be coming from the semi-rigid plastic pipe system that delivers oil to the crankshaft, big-ends and small-end bearings via banjo bolts containing check valves on the top of the crankcase. When I first discovered this leak, I looked up the part
