Saker — bird of prey

Even at a casual glance, it is clear that the Saker is not just another car. What is not so clear is the relationship that it has with Bruce McLaren. Not only did its creator, Bruce Turnbull, want to build a street-legal race car, as Bruce did with his McLaren M6GT, but it also shares the same windscreen as that car, which was being manufactured in New Zealand at the time.

Despite not making it into mass production, the steeply raked and curved windscreen of the McLaren M6GT has been seen in many race and kit cars built since then. Thanks to the narrow windscreen, the interior of the Saker shares the snugness of the McLaren car. Just behind your head rests the Chev engine, which gives the cockpit its awesome soundtrack.
