FOUNTAINE PAJOT TIMES THREE

The lockdown period has not stalled any of the projects at the shipyard. Announced in September 2019, the Samana 59 will be presented afloat at the Cannes Yachting Festival, named after an island in the Caribbean seas.

This catamaran has large living spaces, including a 30 square metre flybridge, a 27.5m2 cockpit, modular sunbathing stations up forward, expansive cabins and an epicurean galley that opens onto the saloon.

Fountaine Pajot is also exhibiting a 40 foot catamaran, the Isla 40. The Isla 40 will replace the successful Lucia 40 sailing catamaran and will be available from early 2021. This compact sailing catamaran reflects its Flagship range and features inverted bows and a saloon where the chart table is accessible from the entrance and gives way to a relaxing daybed.

Outstanding performance is complemented by optimal liveability with the option of three or four double cabins plus the possibility of a skipper’s cabin if required.

The builder is not stopping there, as a new 51 foot model has been announced for next season.

CYGNET 20 TURNS 26

Bluewater Cruising Yachts has announced it has sold a total of 26 Cygnet 20s trailer sailers since launching hull number one at the Sydney Boatshow in 2017.

A deposit for hull #26 was recently placed with BCY by Lizzie for her husband Neil without telling him. She previously surprised him by taking him down to East Coast Marina, in Manly, Queensland to meet, view and sail Michael Shannon’s Cygnet 20 Hopewell, a birthday surprise for Neil. They had a lovely sail out on Moreton Bay.

Another new owner was Andrew from NSW, who visited the factory and met with David and Will to thoroughly look over the Cygnet 20. He viewed the moulds and boats on the build in the factory, met the staff who build them and enjoyed a sail on Lake Macquarie.

He enjoyed it so much he placed his deposit the next day. So far the fleet has the following numbers in each state: NSW: 11; QLD: 6; WA: 4; VIC: 3; NT: 1; ACT: 1.

The plan is to have Cygnet 20s sailing in all states and territories
