FOR many years Aussie fishos didn’t have a lot of choice of brands and product features when it came to electric trolling motors. Possibly the biggest change came with the availability of bow-mount electrics around the early ‘90s. With pedal control and autopilot capability they offered big advantages over traditional tiller steer electrics, notably “hands free” fishing. As a result their popularity grew and most inshore fishing boats (and some offshore) these days sport bow mount electrics.
