As the chief minister of undivided Andhra plans to relaunch it as a direct benefit transfer (DBT) scheme. Beginning April 2021, the Andhra government will credit farmers’ power bill amounts to their bank accounts. Smart meters will indicate the cost of power that farmers consume. Call it second-generation subsidy.
