I had an interesting conversation recently with a young and keen MG ZR 105 owner who was looking for a 1.8 TF135 engine for his car. What he had been able to find he considered too expensive for their condition. There has always been a focus on the 1.8 engine and this has always given them a gold tint, a sort of Midas touch, so I suggested he give some thought to fitting a 1.6 K-series engine, which he hadn’t considered.
