Clan Project launches boiler appeal

THE 25-year-old project to build a new BR Clan Pacific has reached a major new landmark with the launch of a £60,000 appeal to start work on the boiler.

The Standard Steam Locomotive Company Limited (SSLC)which , is building No. 7201has launched the first phase of the Steam Raisers appeal to raise an initial £60,000 to begin detailed design work and procure the manufacturer which will build the first new Clan boiler since 1952.
