Tornado back in BR green for builder's 30th birthday appeal

THE A 1 Steam Locomotive Trust has repainted new-build Peppercorn Pacific No. 60163 Tornado into BR locomotive green for a second time, to coincide with its 30th anniversary appeal.

The relivery pays homage to the last member of the class, No. 60145 which was scrapped in 1966 after a preservation attempt failed. inspired the formation of the trust, a registered charity, which was formally launched on November 17, 1990, at the Railway Institute
