PUB TALK

There has been little to report upon outside of the workshop even though 'lockdown' is easing a little, because events all remain cancelled or at best rescheduled (probably to be cancelled later). Nevertheless riding is permitted, and one or two riders' haunts are open again, including Jacks Cafe, where outside service (tea/coffee/meals) has resumed and outside space is adequate for 'social distancing'. Having said that, PUB's first visit did not go so well, with the AS closed so that a longer ride down backroads was necessary - and the PUB Vincent has become too heavy for that. Readers should refrain from pointing out that the Rapide is unlikely to have put on weight, nor the Earth's gravitational constant to have risen, and the problem is more likely to lie with the rider and the passage of time. A grabby clutch did not help, and is on the'to do list'for a looking at.

So the strategy of'displacement activity' in the garage has only been interrupted by reading or utter laziness. However, the displacement activity did result in some positive progress for the PWP (pre-war project). In particular,
