WHEN I bought my first Range Rover, in 1995, it came equipped with a farm gate. Or at least it looked as if had. On closer inspection, the huge black powder-coated tubular steel monstrosity attached to the front chassis members was what was then known as a bull bar. It looked hideous.
Such ugly attachments weren’t a factory fit. My 1983 four-door would have left Solihull with the same classic lines that had delighted early Range Rover aficionados since 1970. My guess was that this sacrilege was
