SIMPSON A Series crossing of the DESERT

A Simpson Desert crossing is the Holy Grail of 4x4 trails for off-road loving Aussies. In fact, 4x4 enthusiasts come from around the world to drive it. Why? Remember, everything is bigger in Australia. I mean who could ever forget Crocodile Dundee’s knife? It was the size of one of the Titanic’s propeller blades.

The Simpson Desert is the world’s largest sand dune desert and to cross it, you have to drive up and over more than a 100 dunes, which takes several days. You need a capable 4x4 with all the appropriate beer. Sorry that was a typo. I meant gear. The problem with deserts is that they are always in the bloody middle of nowhere. So, they also take several days just to get to.
