LANDY LOCKDOWN

I'VE always advocated the best way to keep a Land Rover in healthy working order is by servicing it and driving it. That’s pie in the sky now, with parts suppliers closing down and only essential travel allowed. But I reckon LRM readers’ trucks will have entered the lockdown in a good serviceable condition, though with little or no chance of being driven to keep the systems up and running. Key workers can travel to work in their Land Rovers, and many of us can drive the Landy for those few essential trips currently allowed (subject to the government’s latest information). But many Land Rovers are now unlikely to see the tarmac or tracks for the duration.

These machines, and to a great extent those staying on the road and for which service and repair items are not currently available, will need to be protected in the best ways we can, so that those staying in use keep running, and those out of action can be relied upon to fire up and drive perfectly when this situation is finally behind us.
