Following the invasion by the Roman emperor Claudius in 43AD, the island of Britain was to see the introduction of a different range of weapons being brought over the sea by the legions of Rome. There was one Roman tribune (officer) who was to become famous among the tribes of Britain – his name was Gnaeus Julius Agricola.
