In the 1960s and ’70s, in particular, it was common for tractor manufacturers to be full-liners – in that they offered a vast range of branded machinery to suit their tractors. Not all implements and equipment were built in-house, as many were ‘badge-engineered’ to suit gaps in the tractor manufacturer’s product line.
Massey Ferguson was no different – producing a range of implements itself, as well as marketing equipment built by specialists under its own banner. The Huard-designed ploughs in its tillage line were a prime example of this.
