Cutting-edge kit

First produced in the 1950s, International Harvester’s B-23 mower proved to be a big hit for the company. It was the right product at the right time–introduced to suit tractors with a three-point linkage, whilst building on the success of the B-21-U.

Apart from the frame to enable hitching to the three-point linkage, the B-23 was essentially the same as the B-21-U–with a ‘floating’ action, belt drive with slip clutch and the ability for the cutter-bar to break back should it encounter an obstruction. Simply reversing the tractor latched the cutter-bar back in the working position.
