TE-D’s transformation

Following a request for readers to send in details of their recent projects, I thought I’d share some photographs and information about mine, which is the restoration of a 1950 Ferguson TE-D 20.

It all began late in 2016, when I obtained the tractor from Upper Milovaig on the Isle of Skye. It was housed in an old byre on a croft and although it was dry, it was suffering badly from ‘tin worm’!

After some careful winching, I managed to drag it onto the trailer and begin the near 150-mile trip back to Ardersier, near Inverness, which is famous for its proximity
