Shearing prevention
had long dreamed of restoring a classic car and I bought a 1977 Mini 1000 back in February this year. Since then I have been assessing it and buying some parts; it is going to need some welding and will definitely need a new rear subframe. Talking to people who have owned Minis in the past has taught me that subframe replacement is a very difficult job and that the fixing bolts usually shear where they fit into the door sills. There is no way of accessing the nuts at the back; I assume that they are captive. Could you advise me on this? I would like to change the subframe before replacing the sills which are not too bad anyway as they have been replaced in the past. I obviously
