THE JAGUAR Mk VII is a grand, stately and luxurious saloon, as our feature on p48 illustrates, but is not an obvious recipe for competition success. Yet the car has a racing pedigree as strong as any other Jaguar, dominating Silverstone’s legendary saloon car race in the mid-Fifties.
The Northamptonshire track had been one of the first wartime airbase-turned-motor racing circuits to hold a meeting newspaper sponsorship, by which the race meeting would become known.
