Inducing fame
Traditionally, the inductees to the BDRHoF Hall of Fame are revealed during Dragstalgia. With that not possible this year, the announcement was instead made at what would have been the first day of the event, Friday 10 July, with the inductees as follows:
Dave Wilson – five times FIA European Top Methanol champion, and the first racer outside the USA to clock 5.50s, 5.40s, 5.30s and 5.20s and to exceed 260 and 270mph.
Ian King – 12 FIM European Championships (10 as rider, two as Team Principal) and the only British member of the international MTC Engineering Top Fuel Bike 5-Second Club.
Jeff Byne – whose drag bike career began in 1970 and in 1978 ran the quickest ever by a British rider in the golden era of twin-engined British bikes: 8.02 seconds.
