Three different types of silage grab compared: Grab a load

Last summer, implement maker Mammut contacted us to see if we would be interested in testing some of their kit. The Austrian manufacturer is probably best known in the UK and Ireland for its concrete pan mixers but it also produces a raft of other kit including clamp rollers, bale transporters and diet feeders. Also on the list, is a range of loader attachments.

With our curiosity raised, we ordered the following three units to put them on test:

• Silo Bucket SB 220M shear bucket
• Silo Cut SC 220M shear grab
• Silo Grip SG 220 Premium bucket grab

Each attachment was supplied with a Euro carriage bolted to the back of the frame. The best part of this is that you can simply replace the carriage if you later want to use the implement with a telehandler fitted with a different headstock. Just unbolt the Euro carriage and replace with your new compatible brackets, no welding, no messing. Great.
