Some may call it car cleaning, but detailing, when done correctly, can really define a car. It’s more than just lobbing a bucket of soapy water over your MG. Concours, show and shine and other kinds of car exhibition is a world of extremes, and is a huge scene and industry. Buffing fans are really passionate about what they do and routinely achieve a finish way beyond the showroom shine. It’s certainly an effective way of preserving rare MGs for future generations.

When we featured Alan Foot’s stunning deep-gloss black MG Metro (MGE September 2019) we mentioned the catalyst for Alan starting down the MG path was his son Karl, the owner of this resplendent RV8. They share two other passions: football (remember that?) and buffing.
