Lokomobilen

Lokomobil is the German name for a portable engine but this name can be found in some translation sources as the term for a traction engine as well. In this case I am only going to discuss the German toy maker’s products which were marketed as ‘Lokomobilen’

The English commercially-manufactured portable engines by Stevens Model Dockyard and others are true portables and were miniatures of those engines supported on wheels which required a horse to take the engine from one workplace to another.
