The Vantage name had been used on heated-up Aston Martin street cars since 1951. The V8 Vantage of the 1970s and ’80s began life in 1967 as the flagship DBS, last of the David Brown-era models, with its bespoke Tadek Marekdesigned 5.3-liter V-8.
