    My courgettes are going rogue

    Q I sowed some courgettes in spring, but they have produced long trailing vines and rounded fruits. What has happened and can we eat them?

    Courgettes, or zucchini, are summer squash usually forming compact bushy plants, though there are ‘climbing’ varieties. Fruits are usually and will pollinate each other.
