Outdoor kitchens need to be under cover in most areas to enable them to be used in all weather conditions, says Malcolm Sims, managing director of Firefox. “Design the area that guests can be comfortably accommodated during the cooking process. The host and guests should be able to comfortably converse while cooking is being done. Apart from the cooking appliances allow adequate countertop space for plates, cutlery, condiments and salads etc. so that food can be served straight from the grill.”
